Whole Wheat Pie Crust
Or use Whole Wheat Pie Crust from your Supermarket.
8 Medium Apples, Cortland, or Granny Smith Apples
½ Cup Date Sugar, or ¼ Cup Carob Syrup
¼ Whole Wheat Flour, or Rice Flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp. Nutmeg
2 Tbsp. Non-Hydrogenated Margarine
Prepare the crust as directed.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Wash, core and thinly slice the apples.
Mix the apples, date sugar, flour, and spices together in a
large bowl, until the apples are well-coated.
Pour this mixture into the pie shell, and dot the top
with the Margarine.
Cover with dough.
Seal the edges and make slits on the top.
Place aluminum foil around the edges, and bake
for 45 minutes. Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes.
Serve warm with Iced Soy Cream.
Substitute any of the following fruits for the apples
in this recipe:
Pears, Peaches, Pineapple, Bananas,
Blueberries, or Any Combination.
